L2Y: Project Submissions
I am starting this project because I think it’s important for adoptees and the community to have ways to express themselves and find support. I have created some categories that I think will bring insight and support to the community. I think it’s important to show all sides of adoption. So this isn’t just for adoptees to submit to but also for parents or family members who are part of the adoption community. I hope that when other people who are considering adoption or want to learn more about our adoptee and adoption community. This is a place for your voice to be heard. I hope this experience will not only benefit the readers but also help you find insights about your own feelings and perspective.
Birth Mother/ Birth Parents
Dear Adoptees,
this is a place where you can submit your feelings about your birth parents. This is a place for adoptees to see how others feel about their birth parents. Sometimes we don’t know how to formulate or express our feeling about our unknown (or known) birth parents until we hear from other adoptees. You can write a letter or poem expressing your feelings.
Adoptive Parents
Dear Adoptees,
I think it’s important for adoptees to also express their feeling about their adoptive parents. If you want to say something or share your feelings about your family, you can do so here. This is a place for adoptees to express their feeling towards their families. This will let other adoptees see what others in the community experience and feel. You can write a letter, essay, short passage, or poem.
L2Y: To My Adoptee
Dear Adoptive Parents,
This is a place where adoptive parents can write letters to other adoptees as well as their own child. I know that this site isn’t just for adoptees but also for adoptive parents. Every parent it different. The benefit of this is that families who are considering adoption will see what you’ve experienced as well as other adoptee to see how other adoptive parents feel about adoption and how it’s changed their life.
Cancer Survivors
Dear Cancer survivors,
Your words are powerful. I hope that the letters you write, other cancer patients can find hope and strength from them.
These submissions can be by any cancer survivor that has any connections to adoptees or the adoption community.
Adoptee Families
Dear Adoptee,
I know that what you are going through or have been through is difficult. I have been in your shoes before and all I wanted was for someone like me to give me hope. As adoptees relationships and family are important. To have a loved one face such a strong disease that has no cure, can feel like a black hole. But I hope that you can prove that there is still hope even in situations like this.
