Features Overview
During this pandemic, there has been a spike in xenophobia (hate crimes), especially against Asians/Asian Americans. These crimes against Asians aren’t always reported on big new stations, but they are still happening nonetheless. I don’t want to ignore that this is happening because the Asian community isn’t often heard. Although these attacks are fueled by COVID-related racism/misinformation, it isn’t just a Chinese-American problem. These hate crimes are targeting anyone who looks Asian. I have proved resources with some perspectives, stories, and articles from the Asian community.
You can support the Asian community by donating to organizations, sharing reliable articles about these crimes on social media, supporting Asian businesses (many small shops or restaurants have been hit hard by the pandemic), and doing further research. If someone says the “China Flu” or something similar, please correct them or you will be aiding this growing hatred and violence against the Asian community.
The resources below all contain mature content, so please be advised. Some of these videos and articles could have outdated information. If you want more information about COVID-19, go to the CDC or WHO websites. Those sites are credible sources that can give you a better understanding of the pandemic.
